The Tour de Sabah started from a humble beginning in 2008 to become a major charitable and community cycling event. The Tour de Sabah 2008 had only 14 riders.  The success of the first week-long Tour de Sabah soon had participants asking for the event to be organised the following year and in subsequent years. 2013 marked the sixth year the cycling tour has been held.  The fun fitness holiday tour grew from 14 to 50 riders by 2013.

While the tour is challenging the focus remains on fun - with a fair proportion of the riders who use the Tour as both a time to unwind  in a beautiful and healthy environment with their families and at the same time contribute to the community.

The tour is a lot of fun – but it has a very serious side. The riders enjoy beautiful surroundings as well as challenging conditions, but we also ensure that the riders feel and see the benefits of their contribution to the
local community.

The tour takes the peloton through Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Penampang and Papar districts.
